CRITICIAL THINKING, PROBLEM SOLVING
&
DECISON-MAKING
“You cannot make progress without making decisions. ”
Throughout my five and a half years in academia, I have learned what it means to truly be a decision-maker & problem solver. As stated previously, in my ACADEMIC EXTRACURRICULARS, I noticed a problem & decided to solve it by creating an organization on campus that both myself and others could benefit from. Having the opportunity of holding various leadership opportunities has allowed me to be a quick & critical thinker. Although I consider myself quite organized, many times activities, events, and situations do not go according to plan. Thus, adapting to these situations has allowed me to truly strengthen my critical thinking skills.
Moreover, holding a position as a first-time property manager of a large mixed-use development can come with many obstacles. As a property manager I quickly learned that unexpected situations can occur at any moment. Emergencies, equipment malfunctions, tenant issues, and infrastructure damages are all issues in which I have had to think critical in order to solve a problem on the job. During these situations our automatic responses may be to panic or “flee”, from the situation. However, through my PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCES at Century Square, I have learned the importance of the meaning “fight or flight”. Previously, in chaotic circumstances, I used to find myself unable to respond , assess a situation, or think correctly. However, MIDWAY has equipped me with the ability to enhance my skills, learn from past mistakes, make clear decisions, and problem-solve to my best ability.
